I bought an '92 SE S13 with Vlsd in already but the odometer doesnt read correctly, its about 10-15 mhp faster. Is there a way to fix it? Not sure wat if came off of but it has 5 bolts on the axles so I think is from a J30 or Z32 but not sure. Plz help, thanks in advance.

sounds like the pinion and ring were not swapped. Your best bet is to get these from an open differential off a 5 speed (if yours is 5 spd) 240sx or na 300zx and swapping them in.

also, are your wheels stock diameter? If you are rolling on some weird size that may be a problem too look at as well..

To me it sounds as if you have either an N/A Z32 or J30 diff. Both of them have a 3.96 final gear ratio and the 240 comes stock with a 4.08 ratio. Personally Id either drive it as is, or get smaller tires- somethin like a 55 series sidewall.

n/a z32 diff. has the same ratio.

if the j30/z32 had a higher ratio diff, the dial would read slower than the real speed.
