I have one of the twin turbos off a 300ZX TT which is not the standard Garrett 5 bolt flange. While poking around the Garrett website I noticed that several of the T28s for the Skylines use what they called a "compact" 5 bolt flange. Is this the same flange?

the nissan turbo's have always has unique flanges, the Z32 came with 4 bolts, at least mine did

if you are looking to replce your ailing turbo's new center sections is your best bet, you can get new center sections that use your nissan specific housings and all the moving parts are new, if you are looking to upgrade you can get new upgrade center sections and have your housings machined to accept the larger center sections, this is how most upgrade turbo's are built, the T28's use adaptors, and require you to convert to 5 bolt downpipes which are available if you want to run an off the shelf turbo but you'll still need to adapt the turbo inlet and outlet on the compressor side as they are also unique to nissan

To elaborate I have one of the twin turbos off a 300ZX TT and I want to use it for a turbo project for my 240SX. The turbine outlet has a 5 bolt flange that looks like a wide pentagon, but it is smaller then the standard 5 bolt flange (I'm comparing against an SR20DET downpipe.) I can't seem to find a name for this flange and thus can't buy a premade flange. However if this is the same as the Skyline turbo flange then I have a new avenue to search.

Edit: took another look at the turbo, it is a four bolt not a five so it wouldn't be the same flange as the Skyline turbos. Question resolved.

Thats not a stock Z32 turbo for sure. All Z32s came with the TB02/T22 turbo, it has a 4-bolt flange.

I was mistaken, it has 4 bolts. I thought it had 5 until I pulled it out of the closet and took another look. Do you know of any places that sell the 4 bolt flange?

No but I'm sure you can look around on google and find the dimensioned plan for it and have someone cut it out, especially if your ok with using mild steel. If i remember I'll trace mine but don't hold your breath, usually by the time I get home I just crash.

No worries, I think I have a cardstock template I made when I first got the turbo in the closet somewhere. I was just wondering if anyone sold a premade flange. Although I guess there isn't much call to reuse the stock turbos on anything, huh? Half a 3.0L is pretty puny.
