does anyone know if a 350z/370z 6 speed transmission can be bolted onto an rb25 or rb26? me and a friend were talking about swapping an rb25 into a 240sx s14 and was wondering if it could be done.

why not keep the 25 transmission? you want a six speed for what reason?

use the stock n25 transmission and use the extra money youd be spending on mods to motor,

Not without an adapter plate and modifications to the input shaft. I'm guessing on these things, but they're educated guesses. If you can do it for less than the price of an RB25 transmission, go for it.

And please tell me you're not trying to do this because of the 6-speed transmission.

Good luck on finding a 370z trans, you'll spend as much on one of those as you would an rb26 swap.

Or you can use a Z32 transmission....swap the bellhousing with your RB25.

If I was building my car for street or cruising, I would do the 6sp, but I'm not. As long as you could get a matching differential ratio, that is.

compared to the z32 trans which is identical in almost every way the z33 6spd sucks and you will be shifting ALOT.

q45 rear end it? Granted the adapter plate was there..

Heres the z32/r33 ratios

3.21/1.93/1.30/1.00/0.75

Heres the z33 6 speed ratios

3.79/2.32/1.62/1.27/1.00/0.79

I like the r33 ratios better myself... However SP is proving the z33 six speed can handle some BIG power right now. Making 1250rwhp through it.... Very impressive. However they have stated they feel its a ticking time bomb... along with the z33 rearend...

yeah i think i'll stick with the rb25 5 speed. i just wanted to have a 6 speed, plus i thought the 350z 6 speed would be able to handle big power from a built RB engine, but guess not. thanks guys!

the rb25 transmission is a very strong transmission, same gear sets as the rb26 and z32 transmission, stong gears, good gear box, stick with it
