question about 300zx brakes

So i was changing the break pads on my car.its a 95 240 with 300zx brakes.I bought it about 2 months ago and the brakes were already installed.what i noticed is,on the front passenger side,when you take the caliper off the rotor can be taken right off,and when the caliper is on you can move it a little,bit its not like this on the other side.somehow i dont think it should do that.also there wasnta little metal plate on the bag of the pads between the caliper pistons.did the 300zxs not have those?

Once you mount the rims, it holds the rotor against the hub.

ok.also i found out there are plates on the back of the pads.does anyone know where i can buy some?
