Question about 2008 M35 NAV Version

I just picked up this car yesterday and wanted to ensure I had the latest mapping software. I found my NAV version listed as 07-08YEAR. Searching here I see that 7.4 is out, however when going to NAVTEQ and filtering on Infinity 2008 M35 it says no update available.

So, which is correct ... is 7.4 available? Do owners get a free one time upgrade (like you do with Garmin)? If so, where do I order from?

I don't know for sure-this is speculation-but I would think that you got the most recent edition ( 7.3 which came out 10/07) when your machine was manufactured; hopefully after 10/07. Edition 7.4 just came out this 10/08.

There is not a "free upgrade" that I am aware of. Hey, this is a luxury machine-nuthin' is really free where it is concerned; quite the opposite!!

She's like a beautiful woman who offers nuthin' for free; but then she's so... who cares..?

Thanks for the reply. I admit I haven't 100% investigated myself, but will so shortly ... the DVD ... it is in the drive in the center console or hidden elsewhere? I'm pretty sure I hit eject today/yesterday just messing around but no NAV DVD came out. Otherwise, I'm sure I didn't get a DVD in any packaging from the dealer.

Isn't 08 Hard drive based? If so, i don' think there is an update yet. (update must be done thru dealer)for the DVD NAV folks, 7.4 is the latest

from what I understand the '08 IS hard drive based, so I don't know how updates would work.

Thanks guys .. I literally read the entire NAV manual today. No mention of HD or DVD, but I think you are right on the HD comment. Appreciate the replies!

Yes it is hard drive based and you have to get the new info loaded at the dealer. I doubt new info is available on '08 yet. Prolly have to wait till 10/09 for new info. Then you'll have to pay the dealer to do it...unless some one comes up with the hack to do it. They went to this to curb illegal copying of the old version NAV DVD disk...not that I'd know anything about the.
