Question about 2004 sentra 1.8s

A great resource for Nissan Sentra, Infiniti G20, 200sx, Pulsar, NX1600, NX2000, Tsuru, Primera and Sunny owners.

I was looking for a used car and interested in a 2004 Nissan sentra 1.8s car. However, i found when i turn on the engine, the ABS check light is not on. The owner told me cuz the car has no ABS. I wonder if this is true. If no ABS equipped, why there is a ABS indicator on the panel? sorry i do not have much knowledge in vehicles.Thanks.

It was indeed an option for this car and year. The ABS light is there but is non functional; most likely to cut costs. It would cost more money to have two instrument panels, one for ABS and one without. That's my guess, but the seller is correct, no ABS. Hope this helps.

Aye, my 01 had the light, but no ABS as well. The ABS light is connected to the ABS controller/ECU, so that pin is just empty. Much easier/cheaper from a business standpoint to just build one dash as many option arrangements as possible.
