Hi guys, I am new to the forum.

My question concerns the 2003-2004 QR25DE engine. I am a novice when it comes to cars and engines. However, my 2004 Altima has recently been diagnosed as having catalytic converter issues which stem from a pre-catalyst failure and which mirror the voluntary recall campaign in the 2003-2003 Altima series. This recall of course did not include the 2004 altimas, but the problems appear to be the same. My question is whether the QR25DE engine is in any way different between the 2003-2004 altimas. If the engines are the same, then that explains why my car is having the failure. If they are different, then there must be a different cause.

Are the pre-cats in the 2003-2004 altimas in the QR25DE engine different or the same? Thank you.
