Ok so what is the deal with the 2000 Anniversary Edition cars. I thought that they came in one model only. Now I see a 2000 ae touring model that seems to have all the options a non touring has so what makes it a Touring? I saw one thing that was weird on the rear q45 symbol there is no placard that said "AE" and the door handles are chromed out instead of the painted style on the non touring model. Anyone have any info? Or Is this just the weird difference in the 2000 and the 2000.5 model.

What is a touring model? Do you mean a Q45t? Yes, there were those also, and they could be optioned up like an 2000ae less the maple trim and painted door handles. Could even have the dreaded CD navigation.

There is no ae 45t. For 2000 the models are base Q45, Q45t and Q45 ae.

There are still a few 1999-2001 Q45 floating around out there.

Just replaced the antenna mast in my wife's 2000 base model in 35° F rain. Ugh! Had to do open heart surgery to get all of the broken mast track bits out. I must find the correct antenna socket as the KD Tools set I ordered did not have it.

Well, it went, but I couldn't determine in the cold how to disconnect the drain hose from the antenna motor body.

I also could not find the correct socket for the antenna nut. KD tools 3915 does not contain it.

Maxwich, do you honestly have to resort to hyperboles suggesting a life threatening, serious medical procedure to describe work that you did on your car?? Given the fact that the antenna extends, retracts, and is toward the rear of the vehicle, if this was the automotive equivalent of ANY REAL medical surgery, it would probably be closest to an erectile dysfunction operation.
Congratulations, I hope your car is now fertile again. :inout:

You take things too seriously "Wiggler".

If it were me I would get a rubber strap wrench or some spark plug wire pullers. How tight can the antenna nut be? I mean on my 1991 Q45 it was on their pretty good. I think I used some pliers and marred up the chrome pretty good. But that was almost 7 years ago. Back then I wasn't as good on working on cars as I am today.

Really? Are you for real? I TAKE THINGS TO SERIOUSLY COMPARED TO MAXWINCH? You should hear yourself right now...
The only thing I take seriously in life IS my sense of sarcasm... you need to live a little.
Anyway, this is actually an ongoing internal battle of wits between me and Maxwich... and it really doesn't involve you..Thanks for the interest though. :)
