Hey guys, new to the forum here. I have a 2012 coupe and i really want to get some coilovers for my car, but everywhere i look, it says that the coilovers out there on the market are only for the 3.5. I dont want to resort to springs, so i was wondering if it was possible to put those coilovers on my 2.5, or what problem would it cause if i tried this? Thanks in advance

Pretty sure every coilover works for 2.5 except Tein coils.

Welcome to NICO!

While they may bolt on, they're not designed for the 2.5. The car's weight distribution and overall suspension setup is different from the 3.5. You're welcome to try, but if they don't work or they screw something up on your car, the company who makes the coilovers will find that you're using them on an application they didn't design them for, and you'll be on your own.

Do so at your own risk.

That said - they will likely bolt on, but you'll get some undesired bounciness and response while driving. Really depends on what you're comfortable with. There are a few guys like AlphaPig who drive 2.5s and they rock coilovers. Pretty sure they go with BCRacing.

There are a few brands out there, but they are largely the same save for the color.

BC, D2, Megan... They are similarly priced as well

Tein is highly recommended by everyone who has them, but they don't yet make coil overs for the 2.5.

Check the BC coil over thread in the Altima suspension forum
