Will the down pipe from a 350 z fit the sedan G35? I got one from a friend and since the are the same engine I beleive it might be the same as the G35 coupe.

the exhaust is one part I know is different because the 350z has a shorter frame.... However, the headers should be the same, it might only be different from cat-back.

Someone more knowledgable will probably be by shortly.

IF the downpipes are interchangeable, I doubt you'll find any real difference with the 350z's unless its aftermarket.

I believe it might be the mid pipe ( it's the one like a Y) the one I'm refering.

normally referred to as the Y pipe....

no, the mid pipe connects after the cats to the axle. its like 4-5 ft long with a resonator on it. The sedan resonator is about the size of texas and as heavy too.

dont try to put this on, wont change anything, and thats IF it fits.

stock/stock would be the same on the down pipe/Y-pipe

Hey John,

Did you install the mid pipe yourself?? I'm on the hunt for one as well... I hate seeing big A#$ resonators in the breathing track... The one's in the intake were rediculous?!? I counted like 5 chambers... I'm hoping to keep the exhaust as fluid as possible....

I did mine myself. It only took about a half hour.

I know for a fact that the 350Z midpipe is not as long as the g35 coupe.

The install takes basic hand tools.

Let me know if you have any other questions

No that's perfect! I figured it wouldn't be too hard

So, I assume the results were impressive? I'm waiting for the Greddy exhaust now... I can't wait! But, I'm already buying more things... too many plans in my head right now

ya, its very easy. Direct fit. Just make sure you have some leverage if those bolts are welded on with any rust.

F$#kin' A+ Report fellas... I'll buy one ASAP!!!

I like doing things myself, but if it's not too bad, that's a bonus!!!

I have a 3 ton jack with 4 stands. I should be OK with the leverage

Cheers, Grant

I just found one today for 60 bucks. I'm going to pick it up on Saturday. Can't wait.

And yes, the sedan's midpipe is huge. I can't believe how huge/restrictive it is... I'm sure not only for less of an exhaust note but for detuning purposes too.
