94 Quest: new starter - tested good, battery good - 12.7V. Won't start. No click when turning key. Fuses tested - good. Have factory Nissan service manual. Inhibitor switch tests good according to spec in manual. Do not get power at inhibitor switch in start circuit and consequently, no power at inhibitor relay. Can jumper power to inhibitor relay and engine will start but it will not stay running. Help ? Could it be in the ASCD circuit ?

SInce you said you have the FSM, locate connector F1 and check the pins on the connector. There have been some documented instances of the pins being bent and not making a good connection.

You are exactly right ! About a year ago I had this same no-start problem and traced it to a broken wire at the pin in the F1 connector. But here I am again, I have jumpered out the connector to be sure. Still no go.

Fixed the problem. It was a bad wire (or connector terminal under the dash) between the fuse block and the inhibitor switch connector.
