My radio started going in and out recently. The other day it completely went quiet. No sound is coming from the speakers. I have yet to troubleshoot it using other inputs, but wanted to put it out there to see if anyone had similar issues. When it started it seemed like a loose connection was causing it. Now the sounds doesn't come on, the display itself shows the station, etc...

Any help to troubleshoot would be appreciated!

Two ideas - have the antenna leads become disconnected at the windshield? I had a problem recently and couldn't get my radio to work. I removed the power at the battery, left it off for a couple of minutes and then reconnected it. No problems since then.

Follow up update

It's unlikely the antenna because non of the inputs produce sound (radio, CD, HDD, aux etc...).
I checked all the fuses related to audio and then not related ones for a good measure and all looked fine. Nothing ese electrically is wrong as far as I can tell.
I investigated around the amp for loose connections and such and saw nothing unusual.

I shall try the battery disconnect tonight.
Any other ideas are welcome. Wondering if the amp wen bad. Unlikely that all my speakers suddenly died. Maybe there's a short somewhere or a connection that got loose that I cannot see....

I think I solved my speaker problem. I have a major leak in the back well. I got water coming in from the roof somewhere dripping down into the well. There was a some point more than several inches of standing water judging by the discoloration around the well. The connection to the bose woofer Got all messed up and there is a circuit board that got flooded and shorted. I have a really hard time sourcing the circuitboard. It does not appear as it is available as a standalone park. I will try to stop by and I Nissan parts store and talk to someone to see if they can order it for me. I have an idea where the leak is coming from but need to make sure before I put it back together. I will post some pictures shortly.

After some more research it turns out the circuitboard is not part of the Bose system. Looks like it’s a control board for the aftermarket part T connector for the trailer hitch wiring.
This would explain why none of the nissan part diagrams were showing it.
I am in drying out of the well area and the wiring and connectors that got moisture including the subwoofer and will test see if there is any short present. I have a feeling once I dry everything out the sound will come back and I will be good.

I have started another thread on the leak itself. I am still waiting on a new trailer t connector wiring so I can swap the board that got flooded. Hopefully the amp and woofer didn't get submerged too high to cause them to become damaged. We shall see....

UPDATE:
I sourced the little board and swapped it but still no sound. I troubleshot some more and looks like my amp went bad. I got a used one coming from ebay, hopefully my speaker saga will end once I swap the amp. Fingers crossed.....

The used AMP from G37 I got on ebay did the trick. Plugged it in and voila-the sound is back! Just need to remedy the hatch leak and I am back on the road>

I am having the same issue with my Quest and now have to park the car in the garage until it stops raining. Can anyone please share where they discovered the leak coming from ?

The water wound up under the rear cargo space and pooled up near the amp which we had to replace already.

Leaks into the rear well on Quests are almost always from clogged sunroof drains, especially if you have the double roof.

we do have the double roof. The leaks are not inside the car at all but in the rear underneath the extra storage in the trunk. Do you think that is coming from the sunroofs even though no leak inside car where people sit?

The two roofs are connected by siamese tubes and drain out behind the front and rear wheels just like any other typical Nissan. When the drain rails overflow on a Quest, the water usually heads down the headliner to either the A or D pillars, depending on the incline of the vehicle. When it comes down the D pillars it ends up in the rear well. Nissan's documentation for drains is deplorable in general, but you can get some idea of how they run from the diagrams here on pages RF-43 and RF-45...
https://www.nicoclub.com/service-manual ... 2%2FRF.pdf
...and the rear roof parts drawing here:
https://www.nissanpartsdeal.com/parts-l ... m=736_A002

Rear drains are almost always best cleared from the bottom up, because clogs almost always happen at the bottom, plus the top holes are always inaccessible under the roof pane when the roof is open. That means taking the cargo room side panels loose on both sides, blowing or snaking out the tubes from the bottom, and poking a screwdriver through the bulkhead fitting from inside to dislodge any gunk and break off any "splash nubs" that may be molded into the fitting.
