I've got a 5.5 Gen iPod Classic that sounds fantastic in my EX35 (2009) using an aftermarket 30-pin block cable to connect. (It's an iPod model that INFINITI lists as compatible.)

When I bought the cable, the listing said it provides power to iPods that have the older 12v wiring. But it doesn't power my iPod.

I've called several INFINITI dealers nationwide to see if they carried the discontinued, original cable:

None of the dealerships carry it. Does anyone know where I could find a factory-original version of this cable? I want to utilize this accessory to its fullest extent. Does anyone have a spare cable that they won't ever use, for sale? Junkyards? Or a reliable aftermarket seller/brand that actually provides the 12v power as designed?

Thanks! And FWIW, I've used other iPods that do NOT have the Wolfson DAC audio chip: I can say without qualification that the Gen5/5.5 iPod Classics sound noticeably better with the INFINITI 30-pin connection port. I do sound engineering and I'm skeptical of hype around stuff like this, but the warmth of that Wolfson chip in specific iPods is night-and-day better, it's really incredible how great the music sounds in my EX35 vs. the non-Wolfson iPod that I have as a spare. Same playlist, same media, same EQ settings... totally different sound.

I have a 3rd Generation touch. I use the original 30-pin to USB cable that came from apple. If you want to try with your 5th gen, Apple store sells here:

It's listed at $19 USD.
