Help! We have a 2002 Nissan Quest that had a motor mount replaced. After returned to us, the check engine light came on within a day or so. Told it was an O2 sensor/knock sensor. Shop kept for some time with another problem being a hose that they said was reason for knock sensor. Also broke bolt- took more time for part to come in. Brakes started failing once returned. Took back again & they tightened bolt for vibration. Still had brake issues. (All dx done by same repair shop). The brakes continued to get tighter and if pumped you could hear air leaking loudly (like a balloon leaking air) until the pedal was close to floor. At that point you could still hear air leakage but it sounded quieter and more steady. The brakes were getting harder to push, as well. :ohno: (Like all my strength to get it to stop. At first, seemed like in reverse was when the pedal was hard to push but then became hard to push often, if not most of the time.) Had friend of a friend check & they said the brake booster was torn. Could these things be related? Unsure if repair shop could be responsible. :nono: Car needed motor mount done for 2 yrs but was running fine until we had this done. :bs: Thank-you so much for your help! Also...leakage of antifreeze- all over back side of engine :barf: after we got car back for last time.

Yikes! You have had a time with that car!
Hose breaking the Knock sensor? Huh?
They knock sensor will set a code, but it will not turn on the Check Engine lamp.
Sure sounds like the booster has failed, and I can't see how they screwed it up during a motor mount.
But it sounds like these guys don't know what they're doing either.
Run away

Thx for ur help! Do u think the brake problem could be from replacing the sensors? Could they have torn the booster? They said they checked the brakes and we have 20% left on the pads. Yet the brakes started going out the day after the oxygen sensor was fixed and the knock sensor was replaced. Coincidence, again? (Motor mount replaced, next day sensors bad. Sensors fixed/replaced, next day brakes bad.) Thx again for all your input!
