So I swapped a Nissan Quest alternator on my RB today, the belt keeps getting hot along with the pulley on the alternator. Added to this is the lovely high pitch screaming... Yes, I have the belt tight and yes, I have shimmed the alternator a little so the belt appears to be straight and not coming off the pulley at an angle.. Suggestions??

I also tried a SOHC KA alternator last week and it did the same thing

I had a similar problem, its a belt alignment issue. Do you have the correct waterpump pulley on your motor?

I'm not sure about the water pump pulley but I will look into it.

I'm thinking I'm going to need to take some pic's of this issue, and or maybe some video..

Edit: I'm going back out to the garage and F with it some more.. I'll be back in a few..
