Hello out there!.....In Here.....:)

Hi, I just registered and opted to give my instinctual behavior the benefit of the doubt w/ regard to being able to comply with posting guidelines w/o reading them. I hope I am not remiss!

I need help!!!! and I hate to have the people around here help me, "Don't learn on my stuff" has been a familiar phrase of mine since some person I trusted oh about 8yrs ago took the head off of my 78 280Z and then proceeded to behave in such a way as to leave me no choice but ask him to leave and never return, my poor Z has been in the garage since then. If only I knew the last time I drove it would be the last time I drove it, but I digress.

The trouble I am having is with my 1993 240SX, it's a convertible, but I don't think that's relevant in this instance.

I'm a single mom and was blessed enough that someone who knew the saga of my prescious Z actually gave me this 240SX when he finally bought his dream car 3000GT, too much blah blah blah, huh? sorry......

Alright, the reason I have registered and am now posting is that "I wonder does this site or some one on it perhaps have technical schematics for my car that I could download and print?

The car came with an aftermarket alarm, shortly after getting it the chaos mongers around here had cut the wire to the siren and since that incident the whole , for lack of a better word, gob of wires, both original and those added for the alarm have been pulled out from below the dash .

Then 2 days ago the present problem began and since then those wires have been messed with in numerous, decidedly failed efforts to get the car to start.

I don't know why it won't start, seems that the ignition is simply not in the loop, there are clicks and blings and so on and so forth, like a short or???...my first inclination was to suspect a low battery(bought a brand new one, no dice) or defective remote alarm controller(sent it off to home depot for abattery replacement where it was lost...)

.., in any event, my ingition seems to be disabled and nothing that has been tried to date to get it enabled again has worked, to boot,as I mentioned, the alarm remote has been lost or misplaced by these helpers from hell. I have another one on order, but it wasn't helping before it was lost and I don't know that there was anything wrong with it.

I'd like to have a diagram of what things are supposed to look like so I can just go to my car where it is stranded and start at the battery and work back or vica versa....or whatever seems most practical.

I am very afraid that so many things that had nothing to do with the problem have been tampered with, that the little voice in my head is practically hysterical, and writing to your forum here is one of the only seeminlgy prudent things I can think to do.

I wish I knew how to remove the alarm, but what if I did and was lucky enough to get all the original connections re-attached, and then the ignition was still disabled?!

I don't know anything about my car, but I am am intelligent and I learn quickly. It is to my discredit that I've given cursory respect to people around here who have no respect for anything it seems, I know it would make me all the more reliant on them if I had no transportation, but I don't want that to happen, it won't happen!!

I'll move on to desperation mode if this doesn't avail me some direction w/o maliscious intent.

Sorry the post is so long, I hope it isn't one of the guidelines that it be concise or I get flamed or shined.......I wish there was live chat here so I could pick someone's brain, of course with their permission......aaaack, sorry for being so needy at the moment, usually I'm a real easy going person.

Any and all constructive input will be greatly appreciated........Felonicity

Felonicity - I moved your last post so that some more knowledgeable members could see it - The technical nature being that it is. Click on the thread to see the replies.

I'm gonna move this one to the Online Mechanic and see how it fares.

Let's get her back on the road, guys!

Considering that the wires have been cut and not knowing which ones they are I can 't make any conclussion. With any alarm that I know of, There is usually a starter disable relay, Its usually located underneath the steering column. Should be able to see 2 large wires.. usually yellow or red coming from the column and going to the small relay. If you can take those large wires out. strip the and crimp them back together, that should fix your loop in the ignition part unless there is another cut somewhere in between that and the starter. I hope this helps. I'll continue to do more research on wires for you to make it more simplier.

is it a manual trans? if so try tapping on the blue relay on the right hand fender well while someone is holding the ignition in the start position. if it is the remenance of spagetti hangin from your dash that used to ba an alarm try and find a black with yellow tracer wire just below the sterring coloum with a yellow end connector attaching it to a different color wire. now locate the other one that looks the same in that same area. jump the 2 together and try to start your car. if you dont see a spliced wire with that color dont jump anything else under there.

where are you in northern calif?

RacinDa240sx- Greeeting from San Jose to Florida! thank you for the info, actually a link I got from apoorboy in the silvia general forumn was precisely what I needed to put definitions to the components under the dash that I hadn't a clue about, I found out what came with the alarm and what was their to begin with, turned the spaghetti into lady fingers baklava.......

Nope nistech it's an automatic, I'm looking forward to finding out about the engine and am pretty sure I've seen numerous mentions and probably the best ever definition of the other problem this car has periodically, I'm going back over to the car as soon as I fix dinner and better get off line before i don't. I am in San Jose, where be you?

NICO Rocks , You guys are way cool :)
