This Saturday, while many of you were having a great time at the Indy Meet, I was slaving away in the garage...

Quella got a new set of Eibachs (Thanks Sultan!). Total time spent: 1 hour, 10 minutes (not bad, eh?)

All in all, a good modification. Initial impressions? Well, appearance-wise, it's a given. She looks great squatted down on those 245/50's. I definitely notice a difference driving - More responsive, especially in hard maneuvering. Really gave her a workout in the local industrial park (after hours) and was VERY impressed. Seat-of-the-pants feel indicates a definite improvement in cornering response and decreased body roll, as well as no more "nose-diving" upon hard braking. Slight increase in transmitted road noise, and slight increase in "road feel". If I lived in Detroit or Boston, I'd be bumming - But Phoenix has great roads, so it's a non-issue. All in all, a good modification, especially coupled with the Tokico Blues, the wide tires, and the FSTB.

Here's a few pics:

Actually, the 90-95 Q's are capable of 160. No kidding.

The 't' stands for touring, and adds some minor goodies (rear sway bar, different spring rates, BBS forged rims, and some interior doodads).

And at 160 i bet its as smooth as butter. now all you need is some HUGE 18" or 19" chrome rims and a body kit, and one of those buddhist braids on the rear view mirror and it will look like one of the Fujimi VIP car kits.

165 mph w/ stock power but limiter removed.

A customer of BAD with only the JWT chip installed and no other performance mods, was clocked at 180 mph by the Florida State patrol.

Words is it took some doing to take care of this little infraction...

Actually,

The poster (on our old forums) never came out and said who it was, but I have a sneaking suspicion the driver is a NICO member right now.

The drop is significant enough that I noticed it (walking out into the garage the next morning I was like, WOW). It feels different getting in and out of the car, too... You'd be surprised how much difference 1.2" can make.

For those of you who know the Eibach drop to be 0.8-1" (f/r), you're right. However, for some reason mine rode a little higher than the FSM specs (even on tired springs). For some reason, she dropped an even 1.2" on all four corners (I measured before and after).

I'm VERY pleased - It looks JUST different enough to tell others that this ain't your "average" Q45. :D

Yeah, that is nice. I never thought a 1" drop would be noticeable, but I can sure tell. 1 hour 10 minutes for all 4? Damn. Maybe you should open a suspension shop. You know book time is 1-1.5 hours each, and I doubt I could do them all in less than 3.

As for the speed issue, I took my tired old Q at 190k up past 145, and it was still pulling when I backed off. Sure, the speedo might be off at that speed, but impressive nontheless.

Thanks Rob - That's nice of you to say.

I *neglected* to mention I took the shock/spring assemblies to a local garage to swap the springs... Cost me $20 for all four and another $20 tip to the kid using the spring compressor (well worth it).

Biggest time-consuming task? Getting my injured arse up & down off the garage floor....:D

Egad, I had forgotten about that. What the hell were you thinking? I get injured enough being fully mobile. Funny how we take things for granted when we're healthy. Never realized what a chore it is to take a crap till I broke my leg!

LOL - I was thinking, "I've got a set of Eibachs, a Q45, and a day off work - so what the hell!"

Yes, "taking the Browns to the SuperBowl" has been a challenge with the leg brace... :(

It was a pisser putting the wheels on the studs afterwards... So simple, yet...

need some dark tint, chrome trimming accenting around the windows chrome tips and chrome plate frames. Then you'll be blingnanging.

Great clean looking car, I'm a huge fan of Eibachs on ANY car.
