Have you looked closely at the distributor cap? On my 24de i see the numbers 123 and 4 on there. If not it's like this

the pop was a back fire eather in the exhaust or in the intake manifold. Chances are it didn't do anything.

The KA24DE firing order is 1-3-4-2. One is usually on the left and it goes counterclockwise.

thats how mine is.. once i put #1 #2 #3 #4 ... 6 tries and nothing.. on the 7th try.. BOOM!

hey about that 3in exhaust thingy how would that setup be?

3inch testpipe? and 3 inch catback with 3 inch muffler?

would it be okay with stock exhaust manifold?

I have a 3 inch cat and catback on my car with the stock manifold. All the flanges connect just fine. That dyno is of just the catback with the stock converter, though.

Look on the distributor cap. Mine has the numbers stamped into the plastic.

Also, the firing order will 99.9% of the time be 1-3-4-2 for a 4 cylinder, so you definitely want to arrange it in that pattern. I'd just try it in all 4 possible locations of 1-3-4-2 until it started. Also, you may have flooded your engine with gas by this point, so try giving it gas when you start it.
