So My driver side rear quarter window came off the guides. So I took the window and the guide plate assembly out. It looks like the the plastic guides that hold the window in the rails all broke, so it wont stay in the rails anymore. I contacted Nissan about it but they dont make just the guides, they sell the whole guide plate thats bolted to the window only and thats like $600. Has anyone made new guides or know anyone partingout a vert?

OR, i was looking into making new guides out of Acetal or Delrin. Would people be interested in these if they were available? is this a common problem? just wondering...

Its a very common problem.

Check out this link, located in the"240sx Convertible Facts, FAQs and Stickies" thread:

I know several members, including myself, have expressed interest in new replacement guides. As long as they're affordable, I bet quite a few people would buy them.

Good luck and keep us posted :)

I just rebuilt mine using using white plasic from a plastic supply house I think it was starboard I Ground of the tops of the metal rivets on the two perforated ones and drilled and and tapped annd osed stailless steel screws and washers to replace
the one with the outer guide I ground off the bottom of the rivet and used same method to refit
The outer one is the easiest one to make I used a 1/8 drill bit to make slots follwing the pattern of a good one the other took longer because of the raised nodules you have to start with 3/8 and cut out exess I did not have router so used hacksaw and box cutter
!
