Quandry, No Spark, No Start

1990 240 SX Auto. KA24EThe starter spins the motor. I have power at the coil input.I have power at the distributor input.I have replaced with new parts....Distributor, Coil, Battery, Plugs, and wires.I have no spark from the coil output.ECM reports "loss of primary starting signal" on old and new parts.What now?My thought is the camangle sensor. but the new one in the new distributor should have fixed that...

Prior to this... I replaced the transmission. Not sure what the transmission came out of since it was pulled by the wrecking yard. After the swap, the engine started once...ran very rough for about 3 min, died and hasn't started since.

sounds like the distributor is off.

3rd distributor installed....2 professional diesel mechanics working on this car.Over 50 years expierence combined...we're stumped. also....tach doesn't work(new symptom)Is there a "required" signal from the transmission before this engine will start?
