over six liters and four turbos and just 1000hp, eh. When people squeeze that power out of sub-3-liter engines and two or one turbo it makes this one unimpressive.

You are right, Mad Scientist...

But can you get 1000 hp at 12 PSI of boost on 98 octane gasoline out of them ?

That is an often overlooked variable. I think some of the guys in the states working on these J-spec engines that expect 100 octane gas don't get some of the credit they are do for the numbers they put up with lower octane fuel octane fuels.

Yeah, some French guy owns this. He tried to buy a GT500 GT-R rolling chassis from Nissan, got denied, so he built this thing from scratch.

It was in a couple magazines awhile back, crazy-a$$ car. I have no idea what countries it'd be street-legal in, surely not the United States.

Nice car, wish I had that kind of money. Then I would have the worlds first Space Shuttle Volkswagen hybrid.

i beg to differ,

have you ever ridden in a 1000hp supra?

probably not, and that is the reason for your statment

a small displacment engine, such as a rb26 or even the larger 2jz, are laggy, granted with anti-lag and other driving amenities, the lag can be elimanated, but this does not lead to long and healthy turbin lifes'

small dispacment engine with high horsepower numbers get smaller power bands, which are fun for a while, but with weak torque curves they just are not that fun to drive

my friend has a 1992 fox body, with a 331 stroker, and a 70mm turbo(i believe) anyways he makes 745rwtq on pump gass at 2900rpms, and just over 820hp by 6500rpms, his car is a blast to drive, the car has never even seen race gass in it

on the other hand i have a friend who has a supra(stock engine) with a to4r and a bit of juice and he made 989rwhp on race gass, and granted on the highway the supra pulls from the mustang, but in overall fun the mustang wins hands down, just becasue he has a fun responsive power band

just like this 12cyl beast, i am quite sure he can do that 1000hp on pump gass, and it is probably a blast to drive through the mountains becasue of its smooth instant power

not sure what i'm getting at, besides the fact that his car with 1000hp is probably alot more fun to drive then most 1000hp sub 3L cars

anyways my $.02

Why do I think you're somehow involved/attached to this car? Can you share any details?

It is a stroked MB 600 S Class engine.
johnzm wrote:what size turbos?
They are rather small in order to get boost soon.

The engine has not been on a dyno yet. 1000 hp is just a first target. A german tuner using a twin turbo set up on the same engine but with only 6.0 liter capacity gets 1000 hp at 0.8 bars of boost and 1200 at 1.2 bars.

Now this is impressive on a whole new level!

Can you share pictures of the naked chassis, or any build photos. Also an explanation of your build philosophy and answer to the rumors of being denied a proper GT500 chassis.

Here is a picture of the body shell and rollcage.

Yes, I went to Japan and tried to buy a JGTC Skyline (without engine) but Nismo refused to sell me one so I built it.

You guys are overlooking something. You can put 1000 horsepower in a ****ing kia if you had the know how and money. The point is this guy did something never done before and It's a Skyline. Badass in my book.

i like driving my car, not fixing it, so i can't afford to be cheap. reliablility for me.

but there are always compromises

In the end reliablity saves doing unwanted spending of money and eventually all 3 become true nothing beats the the relability of a v12.
