my question is, how much would it cost to get a quad throttle set up, and how much extra hp would i gain, along with torque, flow, and responsiveness? i did a quick search and turned up nothing solid, jsut bits

maybe, dunno, i got the notion that the M3 enigne has a throttle body per cylidner, but i havent double checked yet, and maybe 4 is overkill, but splitting the intake into twin throttles and 2 sets up runners? dunno, this is new terrotory for me, ive been looking mostly into bolt ons

PS- there have been posts where quad throttle bodies were mentioned, and i doubt it was on carb'ed enignes, i'll post the links tomorrow

Well, the problem is that the throttle bodies would have to be custom made or kind of a piece togethe thing because they dont make a setup for the KA (which i assume you are referring too). They do make a quad throttle body for the SR and it is mad money. Its supposed to increase response, and I'm sure it adds power, i think it would add more air to each cylinder. not exactly sure how effective it is though. It would definately cost lots of money to make it though.

nice, thanks, and it is expensive, but oh well, just a though, although, if done, i think the car would sound like a monster and respond like one

the quad throttle body for the sr you usually see is a modified gti-r setup.

Yeah the GTi-R intake is the only actual production version but there is someone on a nissan forum (dont recall which one, email me and i could find it again) that put it on the RWD SR20. It would make our setup pretty unique but not sure it would work to the best advantage.

BMW's M series used individual T.B.'s and works well in their N/A setup. Couldnt tell you whether on not you would really gain anything on a SR20. now the RB engine series is a difference story.

Well, they do make aftermarket individual throttle bodies for SR20 RWD in Japan, but I think the cost is about $1000.
