two turbos, no superchargers needed.

You could strap a naked girl to the motor and I still wouldn't want one of those gizmo Rs.

He has done some modification to the cooling system on that side of the head. Apparently it is supposed to be secret or something so he blacks it out.

Its just the "Jun" Cooling system modification.

High side venting of the cylinder head.

Don't hate on the R35 too much. It hurts to be wrong in hindsight. In 1989, what do you think contemporary people thought of the R32 GT-R ? It was a fairly complicated car. Too much intervention from the computer.

It doesn't hurt me, I don't have an ego problem so it is easy for me to say "I was wrong" if I was wrong. My rub on the R are all things that are not going to suddenly turn out to be something different. I am not complaining about complication. I am complaining about the design philosophy of the car, its soulless interfering character. I don't care how fast the pig is, whether it will make a great latte, I want to drive my car, work on it and not have it narc on me to the friggin dealer when I act the fool. The R is purpose built to prevent me from doing those things and it shall be from now on so in the words of Ice T hate hate hate hate hate hate

Then I get the guys that say "if you had the money you would buy one". That is true actually, but not in the way they think. I would buy one and gut all the BS out of it and make it a real sports car, no gizmos, no nanny tech, lots of power and no manners likely to kill you if your mind wanders for a nanosecond at full thrust. This car is perfect for the modern car guy. In this world of automatic toilets, 8000 channels on the TV and soaring viewership for reality shows is it any wonder that a car that does everything for you and allows even the functionally retarded to go fast and live would be the new dream car?

No sir, I come from a time when you had to be able to actually drive to make a potentially fast car actually fast. I want to earn my thrills not have them delivered to me while I recline and play with my crank. At age 10 I was already outraged that Corvettes were even built with automatic transmissions as an available option. 26 years of life and 20 years of driving have not softened my attitude. screw this thing, it is an abomination. If you want one go get it, I hope it makes your pecker feel bigger. Just don't expect the curmudgeon in the 85 Skyline to give you any more respect than a pizza-faced kid in a Hyundai.

Mario is real nice too. I emailed him with a question once and he got right back to me. He don't know me from adam, could have just blown me off but he didn't, made a very positive impression.

Belive me when I say this. I somewhat like the new R, but I am not jumping on the bandwagon over it.

I appreciate it's performance versus price, and the fact that it's a technologically advanced car, but as Mike has pointed out, there are some things I don't like about it.

People and shops are already unraveling the hellraiser box with wheels but think about it. You drop $70K on a car just to spend another chunk of change undoing factory stuff, trying to unlock it like a PS2. To me that doesn't sound right. If I spend that much money I want the car to come upholstered in snow leopard fur if I request it.

I would just buy the car that satisfies me the moment I roll it off the lot.

Look look in the RB forums. You might be able to find something over there. I know that a few people have done some pretty wild builds on the 26.

I still till this day cannot understand how superchargers and turbos can work together combining forces... wouldnt one limit or impede the other!? its like yo wtf.

it messes with me late at night... I really want to understand.

You know how turbos work, right?

You know how superchargers work, right?

Turbo is exhaust driven, supers are belt/crank driven.

Basically, you are taking the supercharger to stuff more air into the turbos to stuff even more air into the engine.

It's basically zero lag since the superchargers work off a belt which is driven by the crank...so you get low end boost off-idle, plus all the extra it is throwin on top of the turbos. Does that help?

I know but....

I always thought that the blower would limit the turbos from exceeding its own boost pressure...

but I'm going to study up on it... there are articles on this somewhere.
