After reading about this product by QTP and having it brought to my attention by Hussein's thread, it sounds like a neat idea.having the option to keep your quiet exhaust, then instantly have an open and aggresssive exhuast while giving you the power. then close it right back up!

i was just curious who else out there has this product, what are your thoughts, and what the stock piping is on the 2.5s? the smallest piping they go down to is 2.25" but i'm not sure what it actually is. i'm sure it will give the 2.5s a decent performance gain but i'm wondering if i should upgrade my exhaust setup to 2.5" if its sitting at 2.25"

educate me!!!

well, i know with my 3.5se there was a flat part in the pipe right before the cat.... i took my cat off but ended up putting it back on but replaced the flat spot with 3" and everything else 2.5".... i have my cut-out right before the cat where the flat spot used to be... heres a pic of the cat and flat piping

i have no idea how the 2.5s looks like under the car (aside from knowing it has a resonator that the 3.5se's don't have) but i'd assume it also has a flat spot... i'd replace that spot with 2.5" piping and put a 2.5" cut-out (3" sucks cuz it screws up ground clearance with no power benefits at all). this plus the Stillen headers should make you pretty quick.... stock i did a 14.4 in my 3.5se and when i unbolted my muffler (same general concept of the Exhaust cut-out but manual having to open it) i got a 13.912 and i'm pretty sure i can hit a 13.8 so that means the cut-out should make me .5 to .6 secs quicker and that combined with headers, my guess is that you could be a full sec quicker in the 1/4 mile (so 3.5se times)
