Is it illegal to have side-rear mounted cameras instead of side mirrors?

As long as you have a rear view mirro inside the car, I have seen the mounted near the rear mud flap, laws are really different in all states and it all depends on the enforment of that law. Just call your DMV and they should be able to tell you.

I don't think you will have any problems either, but to be safe check your local laws.

Ya I guess I'll give the DMV a call after the holidays, I guess I was wondering if anyone else had looked into the same thing before.
