QG18DE engine

Hello, newbe here with a 04 sentra engine problem.I bought a replacement jdm engine from a 3rd party who bought it and did not use it . Apparently he was scared off when he found out the cams could not be simply swapped out .The old engine head Id is 8U3R7 which I assume is a QG18DE the replacement engine reads 4MT022A on the head,Am I correct in assuming this is a variable cam timing engine and if so how do I correctly reset the sprockets as he started to remove them Thanks in advance, Mike
