Post

Hi. Just bought Indigo Blue 2010 S 360 2 weeks ago, and I have a question!

I bought this car 2 weeks ago. I like everything about it, except my non-Bose OEM radio(well, that and few other small things like not having H.I.D., No fog lights, but I'll tackel these in later date). I don't want to have loud booming radio with big subs or anything, because I don't want to lose the cargo space, but I do want to have Nav, and XM. May be some replacement speakers.
I was out shopping for new head Unit today, and am pretty sure I decided on Pioneer AVIC-X920BT.

I was this close to order one, until I noticed this pic below...

My big question - The color of this kit(metra I believe) really THAT much off from OE dash color?
And I also read that the fit of metra kit is less then perfect - that it doesn't fit tight to the heating control panel, something about way the brackets attach to the cover, they fit into a notch on the cover, but will not fit tight, they would always pop out or if lightly tugged on the cover it would pop out of the brackets.

Is this true? Or its not, is there anyother manufacture other then Metra makes them(that match the OE dash color?)

Thanks in advance!

I have the Scoshe kit for my Pioneer NAV and am happy with the color and fit. I've heard the Metra kit is not as good from others on the site.

Jk, you don't have a pic of your dash area with scoche kit by any chance, do you?

Scosche kit photos courtesy of globe9. Maybe it's the camera angle... or maybe it's not a Scosche kit?

I'll see if I can upload a pic. Also, the camera angle can affect how it looks colorwise.

I saw this from another member's post(Leo2005), and looks like color is almost perfect match. its not stated what kit was used I don't think tho.

I talked to Scoshe sales, and they said that their kit is almost black in color.
I wish someone local(shop or otherwise) have both kits so that I can compare the stinking color!!!!

That's a Metra kit that Leo2005 used.

He cursed about the fit too... it's not the best.

Leo2005 wrote:me too. I had problems at the bottom. But I already sold the unit because I'm waiting for azentek carputer. After that I'm buying the kit from somewhere else. You can try put something between the screw and the hole but I couldn't make it perfect.

So I guess Scosche kit is better fit, and Metra kit leaves something to be desired.
My big issue is the color matching. It seems that depending on what/when pic is taken, color seems to change...

2011 NIssan Rogue radio. Notice the one piece bezel around the radio? This would work assuming:

A) The parts are interchangeable with the '08-'10 models.
B) The opening is the correct double DIN size.

Today I talked to everythingnissan and they said dash kit around navigation comes WITH navigation and it is a PART of navigation that goes for something around $500. Chrome moldings on doors will be $95.95 ea. front and $54.50 ea. rear. Forgot to ask about rear bar above license plate but will call them tomorrow again to order moldings and ask for the bar.

Well I didn't get into details but I have a feeling this is a regular radio with the same bezel.

Wierd. The stock radio (no nav) on the '08-'10's is about $750. Find it hard to believe the price is lower.

Doesn't make any sense. The radio on the '08-'10's is incorporated with the dash. Doesn't look that way on the '11's.

I installed avic - z140bh with scosche kit this morning. Honestly it looks even worse than metra but fitment is a little bit stiffer which is good.

2 weeks ago I wrapped shifter trim and door handles in flat black so I might continue to wrap the whole thing in matte black as well:

I just changed out my radio in my Rogue SL to a Clarion DOuble Din. I used a Metras faceplate and was very happy with the clean look. Also realized how poor the radio was cosidering I paid like $1K plus for "Premium system".

Take a look around the metra dash. Do you see gap at the bottom? What about on sides? To me it was not a perfect fit. Dont really care about the color since that part is not that hard to fix as stated earlier...paint it or wrap it.
