Does anyone know if the Qashqai roof rack will fit onto a Rogue? I ask because I am not finding an actual roof rack (not the cross bars) to install on my Rogue S Special Edition that did not come with the factory roof rack.

Not trying to make a big deal out of it, just kind of thinking out loud. Trying to figure out the most cost effective way to get a roof rack on my Rogue.

EDIT***While I am on the subject I see a carbon fiber grille made for the Qashqai that looks like it will work for the Rogue. Any thoughts guys?

While the Qashqai bears a strong resembelence to our Rogue, there are styling/size differences that hinder swapping parts. I did a quick on eBay, but didn't find the Rogue racks themselves. If you want OEM, you'll most likely have to check with a local Nissan dealer. Otherwise, here's what I found for generic aftermarket.

As for the carbon fiber grille made for the Qashqai, again I'm gonna say probably not goning to fit due to body style differences.

Here is a link to the CF Grille. At first glance it looks to be the exact same. I can't see myself spending 230 bucks on something that may or may not fit...it's just that it looks so different than anything I see in the states. I actually really like this grille.

And here is a link to the ebay auction for the roof rack. Again, it looks like it would work but I have no way of knowing for sure.

Before you cough up hard earned dough, take a look at these pics. The top one is a QASHQAI, the bottom is the ROGUE. Can you see the differences?

Wow I can definitely see the differences when you put em up side by side. Certainly doesn't appear that it would work.

I appreciate the input man!

You're welcome! Sorry to rain on your parade for the grille, but their may be hope for the rails. Try contacting the seller and see if they know if they'll fit.

I've seen a QASHQAI up close so I knew there were differences, some are subtle and others that really stand out.

There's a really cool chrome gas door cover for the QASHQAI that I would like to have, but alas it won't fit as it's square and the ROGUE gas door is rectangular. :frown:

Seller would never know. But if you look closer on design of the hood you can tell right away it's not gonna work. I already tried chrome cups that goes under the door handles and they don't fit perfectly. If you don't mind about some small gap then I guess they work fine
P.S. Rogue One if you want chrome gas door why don't you get a cover?

I knew that was the one you were talking about right away too.....it is sharp looking. I can't believe there isn't more of an aftermarket following for the Rogue. Admittedly, the Qashqai looks better IMO but still. Hell, maybe I will call around to a few places here locally and see if anyone is up for making em for us. I would like it to be customizable like having a Nissan logo with NISMO imprinted. Anyway, no one will probably do it for me but you never know. I am pretty convincing!

EDIT* While I'm on the topic, does anyone know anybody who can work with CF? I wouldn't mind maybe a CF front lip and grille.

Why do you need a roof bar?

If you want to install cargo box or bicycle rack then there are some ceiling mounted bars in the market. They use the edge of the roof. I am pretty sure you are aware of that option.

Do you want it for the look? It it is for the look: If I were you, I never let people to drill holes on the roof of my new car. On the other hand, they will remove the ceiling liner. Just go to the factory service manual and see how to remove the roof liner. The two technicians should be very careful while removing it. They shouldn't bend it, otherwise it will break (there will be permanent wrinkle on the liner). Probably they will have dirty hands and leave marks on the liner...and as I said before, they will DRILL holes! Last week I went to the dealer and ask them to change the fuel sender units. The technician removed the rear seat to have an access to the fuel pump and sender units. At the end of the day, I have a paint chip on the sill and a deep scratch on the plastic trim. I can't imagine what would he do if he removes the roof liner???

Again, if I were you I would never let them touch my car for this reason.

I never let the stealership get anywhere close to my cars. I certainly wouldnt let them pound holes in my roof.

If I somehow get a stock roof rack I would install it myself. I wanted it for functionality more than anything, but really wanted to use stock location and mounting points.

Not a problem. If I actually got some that would fit I wouldn't have any issues installing them myself. I understand I would need to drill holes to get the stock rack to fit on my Rogue. I have more faith in myself doing a good job than some random dude at a dealership. I have always done all of my own modifications on my cars, even the more difficult ones.
