Q70 radio in m37 retrofit

Has anyone done this? Can I just pull the head unit (s) from a Q70 and drop them into a M37 and get INFINITI InTouch™?

Not sure I've heard of anyone doing that but you could always reference the factory service manual found in the FAQ thread in my signature to compare wiring schematics.

I don't think they updated the new q70 with new screens or anything but I may be wrong. 90 percent sure its the same tech.

If I'm not mistaken the it would depend on the engine as well. The 3.7's have a 7" screen and the 5.6 have a 9" screen.

I would think if that was the same size screen the odds should be fairly high that it would work. However that is a guess, the newer cars have more sensors and options so not so sure anymore. I think I just negated what I said earlier. LOL

did not realize the screens were different sizes. thats pretty crazy. i wonder if all the connections are the same

the all new 2018 Q70 screens are all the same across all trims - 8".

The pervious years are all same 7" screen.

I plan on hopefully winning a doner car (C.O.D.) flood car from Texas. Plan is to do a front and rear clip swap and also upgrade the brakes and wheels on my hybrid. I would love to swap head-units (assuming it still would work) and be able to add all around view cameras etc.

I am betting the harnesses are going to be different, assuming you are taking a 2015 and up Q70 AV unit with navigation, because there are several more inputs for the Q70 compared to even a 2012 M:

1. rear sonar (pretty sure not offered until 2013)
2. front sonar
3. side view cameras x 2
4. front view camera

so potentially 4-5 new wires that weren't available until the 2015 model....but you never know.

After reading info on my car the screens that are available in 7" with the ten speaker system and an 8" if equipped with a 16 speaker system. From what I read is that the 16" system isn't available in the 3.7, if I'm mistaken in that sorry but for sure there are two screens. As for rear solar, my car is equipped with it as well.

16 speaker absolutely is available with a 3.7...it was part of the touring package. My M37x has it.

My 37S also has 16 of them. As far as the screen size, I stand corrected - 8" screen in my car also (according to the original sticker). Thanks Malbec for the info.

After having a QX60 on loan while my M56 was getting repaired I noticed the new features in the head unit. I asked the service guy if the units could be swapped and he said no because of a different wiring harness.
