Hi, I had alignment done on my Q70 3.7 with OEM 20's at the dealer after replacing the steering wheel with a new one and to fix the crooked steering angle they adjusted only the front toe to center the wheel as other alignment settings were fine, the numbers the report shows are as follow:

Left front toe: 0.06 degree
Right front toe: 0.05 degree
Total front toe: 0.12 degree

Infiniti Specs says total Nominal toe of 0.08 and maximum of 0.24

I feel I have to correct the car on the freeway more than pre alignment. My question is, shouldn't the total toe be closer to 0.08 nominal spec or 0.12 that the hunter report shows is OK? all measurements on Hunter printout are green.

Welcome!

I'll let one of our more technical folks chime in, but do keep in mind Kami that the Infiniti M's (all of them, from 2006 to today) are known for 'tramlining' which causes us drivers to have to correct frequently. My 07 M35x did it as does my '11 M56x. It can be helped a bit with different/better tires, but it never truly goes away.

That is true, specially with these low wall tires on 20’s I noticed the steering is very susceptible to road surface quality, like when coming to a stop on an uneven pavement, it has tendency of following the road imperfections.

On the wondering note, this my second Nissan made car and on my 06 Murano this was even worst but I got used to it. However my question still remains as with the total toe, does it have to be at nominal measurement or if it’s fine to be within range like mine seems to be.

My understanding from the alignment is the more toe-in will contribute to more precise control, centering and less wondering.

Yeah unfortunately I'm not an alignment expert so I can't answer that question.

I am thinking of ditching the factory Bridgestone sometimes in next 3-4 months. Is the Michelin PILOT SPORT A/S 3 PLUS good replacement, control wise and noise level wise for the Q70?

That's what I have on my M56x right now, I like em and do recommend em.

Cool! I always liked Michelin, I think anything will be quieter than Potenza.
