Q50 "S" Badges

In 2014, the G37 Sedan became Infiniti Q50. G37 Coupe and Convertible became Infiniti Q60 under Infiniti's new naming structure - Here's the place to discuss the Q50 and Q60!

Can someone give me a rundown of what the different color "S" badges mean?
At first I thought a red S was Red Sport, but I've seen 3.7s and Q70's with a red S badge. Now I've seen silver and blue S badges on many other Q50's on the road.
Thanks guys

So much for conversation. That doesn't answer my question. You just gave me a list of Q50 models which doesn't tell me the color of S badge. I've seen red/blue/silver S badges on Q50s at dealers long before the red sport came out. Is this just a dealership trend?

Q50, Q50 Red Sport 400 (2016-)...The Q50 Red Sport 400 is based on Q50 3.0t (405PS), with sport styled front fascia, sport brakes with 4-piston front and 2-piston rear calipers, sport-tuned Digital Dynamic Suspension, new rack-based Electronic Power Steering or optional Direct Adaptive Steering, leather-appointed sport seats, aluminum-accented pedals, solid magnesium paddle shifters, Exclusive Red Sport 400 brushed-finish exhaust tips, Exclusive Red Sport 400 19-inch sport aluminum-alloy wheels (staggered for RWD models), chrome finished red 'S' exterior sport badging on the trunk and front fenders...
Chrome (Silver) = nothing special. Standard color used by ALL car manufacturers.
RED "S" = Red Sport model
Blue = Hybrid

Infiniti used the Red S before they started doing "tiers" of sport models in MY2016.

Before this, they had one sport model tier. They would always be red, with the exception of the 2014-2015 Q50, the 3.7L sport model was red, and the hybrid sport model was blue.

For now, the blue S is no longer offered as they no longer offer a hybrid with a sport package. So for now, a silver S is a lower output sport model, and the red S is a higher output. The rumor is we will soon see a Black S (offered in the Q60 first) as a premium performance BMW-M model type sport offering.

Still in the works, I do hope we see it go into production as I think Infiniti is long overdue for a designated performance marque.

With Infiniti's recent announcement of going toward electrification in the future, I don't see it happening. I think the Red Sports are the last of the Mohicans here.

Nissan as a whole cares less and less about engaging, fun to drive automobiles by the day now, it seems.

For 2016+ Silver S mean's it's a 3.0t Silver Sport. Lack of a S at all means it's a 2.0t.

They have changed things now to Pure and Luxe models. Infiniti doing weird naming stuff seems to be the norm.

I can answer your question in a way that may be done elsewhere. For me, I was not willing or unable to spend the money on a red S. So I decided it was my car and I could do what I want. Its not like I put an M on a BMW 328 but since my car was light blue I decided to create my own Blue S with Blue S's. Oh sure people will diss me for that but again at 59 years old having owned everthing seemingly on the road over the years from corvette's to old Mopars to Mercedes to the rest I decided that when I trade in my 2015 Q50 for a 2018 one day I would spuce it up. One look at my 18 inch wheels will reveal that is just a sport. But I could care less. I probably get more looks from the rear window decal that says "God's Crazy about you" - I dont believe in pretending a car is a M or AMG or red S but the blue S was unique and unless your an
Infiniti sales guy or someone in the know it just looks sweet to me. Again at my age I wanted it the way I wanted it. :-)
PS open for a Go fund me page to buy a RED S however :ohno:

It's your car, doo whatcha wanna doo :)

I've seen a Ford Probe with huge GT-R stickers and Nissan emblems on it. He liked it, didn't matter if he was made fun for it or not.
