Q50 fuel pump kill switch help

In 2014, the G37 Sedan became Infiniti Q50. G37 Coupe and Convertible became Infiniti Q60 under Infiniti's new naming structure - Here's the place to discuss the Q50 and Q60!

Trying to make a fuel pump kill switch for my wife's Q50. I got about 15 feet of wire and a toggle switch from Amazon. Need some help as to which wire to tap it into. On the fuel pump harness, which color wire is the power wire? Any help is highly appreciated. These things are getting stolen every day in our area and I'd like to prevent that.

Thanks!!

Looks like Brown and Green are the pump wires on all MY's. You can interrupt either one.

You do realize that is a high amperage circuit-- right? Probably not the best place for kill sw. Check the manual to tap into the actual start button.

Kill switches will rarely if ever be "hot" switched, which is primarily what eats up switch contacts. The FP on a Q50 is fused 15A and will never draw more than ~8A unless the motor stalls. So even a crappy 10A parts store switch will probably die mechanically long before it has electrical issues.

Hum... I'm pretty sure that as soon as you get in the car that pumps CONTROL SIGNAL activates. Meaning, pump on. Adding a cheap crappy sw that has the potential to arch and foul will introduce resistance. Shall I continue? There's more... it's not a wise choice. If you have to, for what ever reason kill lpfp. Do it on the control signal side not the power side. Why the fuel pump? I'm getting Death Proof like thoughts....

Nope. That happens when you hit the button, not when you open the door. Nobody with half a brain turns the ignition on before disabling the kill switch, especially on a pushbutton ignition.

True. So use a good switch.

No.

You could do it at the PWM line to the FPCM, but explaining the how-to for that is complicated. Manipulating the start button is asking for BCM problems, which no one in their right mind wants. There's no real harm in killing power to the pump.
