Quesion for Dennis:I understand your Q has 300k+ miles and is still running on the original injectors. Correct? I also understand that you follow a strict routine of BG44K every 90 days, periodic fuel rails flushes, etc. But in addition to this, have you also had your injectors fully serviced (by Deatchwerks)? Or at least replaced all the O-Rings? If so, how often? Tks!

317k since Jan 1990.My rails have never been apart [injectors removed]* nor any distance from the Q beyond a 6' work bench. The fuel hoses have been replaced 3 times [last Nov 07].

Just BG 44k and BG Fuel Injection cleaner plus Techron about 10 years ago.For the past 10 years QT Gasoline.

Georgia has never used Ethanol and the use of MTBE was always low if at all.The car has only used Georgia 230k, Alabama 2k, Florida 30k, South 18k and North 33k Carolina plus some Norfolk [2k], Tennessee [2k] Gasoline.Give or take a 1000 miles worth. Some of these were MTBE but they were washed clean with Georgia gas every weekend.

* Over the years when the rails were off I've removed and cleaned the lower rubber seat in runners to make sure air tight.

I had my injector harness replaced a few months ago, and at the time Tommy at T3 removed all the injectors and cleaned them manually. I had done periodic rail flushes and injector cleaner during my ownership of the car (last 105K miles) but I'm sure there was crud left over from the original owner which a rail flush or injector cleaner wouldn't touch. Car did run a little better afterwards, but not a significant improvement.

If you're the 2nd/3rd/4th owner then manually cleaning the injectors is worthwhile if the plenum is off for other work (hoses, knock sensors, etc.).

Dennis,Good info. Excuse my ignorance but what does MTBE stand for? I have seen some reference to this somewhere else but I am not sure I know what it is, nor I understand how it affects gasoline and the fuel system. Based on your comments, apparently is not very "injector friendly"Is it as bad as Ethanol? Or worse?

If am not mistaken, the gas I use (WA) has it...

I guess you are fortunate to have good gas in GA.

Tks for taking the time to provide your feedback.

MTBE is an additive that reduced carbon monoxide levels but ruined ground water.
