Dennis....as you are aware of my situation that I can't find anybody worthwhile to work on my Q so I am very serious about taking it to T3.

Can you give me a price quote on the following:

1. knocksensors2. transmission drop and replace (I already have a separate transmission cooler, new gasket, & transmission mount) This will be putting the 92 LevelTen transmission into my 95 car.3. Anything else that you suggest while the top half of the engine is apart..such cleaning plenum, removing and cleaning injectors...etc.

Thanks...Rob Please send me a separate email if you like...my address is [email protected]

Also, I understand that this is just an estimate and the price may be higher which I am cool with. I just need to get an idea of the total costs involved as I am almost certain that the relief from dealer aggravation and monies savings would definetly be worth my time. Espcially since I am doing all these mods...I want the car running the best possible.

should all of that take place...i could be interested in bringing the 90q down there at the same time and having your recently rebuilt transmission put into my son's 90Q.

I gu ess everything will depend on pricing...

sounds good natsoundup ...I think Wes might have first take on it, but we have not finalzed anything yet. My old transmission comes cheap...as I have no use for it, but I will need to test out the new transmission to make sure all is good because I am doing a 92 into a 95 car and you also will be doing a 95 into a 90 car. I don't know how the 2nd gear start might affect the 95 transmission, but hey...its worth a shot and I am taking a bigger risk paying $4,000 for this LevelTen thing and crossing my fingers that it works...and if not...well then someone on NICO is going to get a very nice LevelTen transmission at a very nice discount.

ok, let's see how it all plays out...

....I show interest because of my widely known slipping problem in the 90 and my 2 hour and 15 minute ride to T3

The transmission started slipping in August.... following a flush. did antoher flush...nothing... did a pan drop and filter change then flush...nothing.

The transmission works beautifully shifting into all gears... however if you try to accelerate in the final drive gear it will slip and then drop back in..

at the time it had 158k miles...now it has nearly 162k... I got a 94 in october and it hasn't been driven that much as yo can see... however I gave it to my 16 year old...he got his license about 3 weeks ago..... he understands how to drive it...

if you want to accelerate...you just drop it back to 3, accelerate and then push it into D.

i am open to trying anything that I can.... I like the idea of a tcu diagnostic....is it in the FSM

don't know how to check the line pressure... quite frankly I am at near expert level when it comes to unbolting and bolting --ha-ha-ha

anything above that level is where I count on you guys.

You need an oil pressure gauge and a brass T-fitting to tap into the transmission line. The TCU diagnosis is in the manual somewhere...AT section I presume.

You are next on my list of a new buyer....I am waiting to hear back from Wes. I asked him to let me know by mid day Friday if he can buy it. I just got done with the dealers head mechanic and it looks like the TC is not working correctly....all else seems perfect as they ran the consult while we did some driving to replicate the problem and the only thing that was not normal was the TC fucntion....something about at 94% around 4,000 rpms for a second causing the rpms to drop by 50 to 100 rpms under a hard acceleration. They are going to do some more tests...but initial thoughts are TC....I did not have this replaced when I had the transmission rebuilt last year. The same people who rebuilt my transmission will be installing my new transmission and they rebuild all the Q trannys from the dealership down the road. It does not look like I will be going to T3 soon...but I can have the transmission shipped to you. I think shipping usually runs around $200 and I would like a minimum of $275 for the transmission which includes a used transmission mount that is only 25K mile old. I screwed up and bought another transmission mount and decided that I might as well have it replaced again since I am replacing everything else. The phone number for the transmission shop is 954.961.1147 and ask for Dan if you have any questions about the rebuild. I have not informed him that somebody might be calling about my old transmission but it should be okay. I will let you know as soon as I hear a yes or no from Wes as I have not heard anything definite yet.

rsiwicki,I wish I had the money together right now to go to T-3. I'm falling way short in funds and it's going to take longer than I initally anticipated to get the guides and everything else done at T-3. I'd love to go when you were there....

I think I'll have to do everything but the guides here to save some duckies then go to T-3 in a couple of months for the guide work... Sucks

If you get there before I do, I need to know how your experience was....

natsoundup....Wes asked for more time and I emailed him to say I need an answer by Saturday as if he can't buy it then I need to give others a chance to buy it becuase the transmission shop will not store it for more than a day or so. I will personally email you Saturday evening if I have not worked something out with Wes...

well I have not heard from Wes....so it is 4 sale. I emailed you through the forum natsoundup....Please let if it will work for you. I think all the info is above....but here it is again

95 transmission rebuilt 25K agoAsk for Dan @ 954.961.1147 with any questions about the rebuild...they rebuild all the Infiniti dealer's transmission's30K mile old transmission mount....I forgot I had already replaced it and so I bought a new mount about a week agoTouring model rear sway bar...I upgraded to the A model rear sway bar (but I really don't feel that much of a difference :()

Price is $275+shipping and I will need to ship it soon (within a week from the time I get my new transmission installed) as the transmission shop does not want it lying around forever. I will be installing my new transmission this week. I am getting my transmission drop and swap done for 5 hours of labor or $300.

email me at [email protected]

Infiniti dealers only use factory remanned units, they don't take a chance on out side shops because of the lack of transmission dynos to proof their work.................plus why when you get factory remanns for $1200 with a new valve body and remanned TC.

Outside shops can only compete on price by skipping many things.

The local dealer refers all customers who need to have the original transmission rebuilt to this shop. I had to have my original transmission rebuilt due to my warranty company would only pay for my original transmission to be rebuilt...even if the costs were more which they were at $2,800 for everything. I had inquired about a pre-rebuilt transmission but the warranty company only pays for the original to be rebuilt and this shop where I had my transmission rebuilt is where the dealer send all customers like me who have to have the original rebuilt. Sorry for any confusion about the shop rebuilding all the dealers transmission's....and I hope the above clarifies that this shop is who the dealer recommends when you have to have your original rebuilt or want your original rebuilt versus going the other route. Whether they are good or not....I can only say that my transmission currently works good and you can call the shop to ask them before they stick in my new LevelTen transmission on how the car drives. I just found out that the torque converter is not working properly last week and I did not have this replaced when I had my transmission rebuilt. This shop would have more experience rebuilding Q transmission's than most other transmission shops since the dealer refers all the customers like me to the shop.
