T3 hasn't done a Q45 total engine replacement in a year, in fact we haven't bought a blown Q in almost a year. Guess the junkyards are just picking them up directly or people are burning them on the side of the road.
2 shops are down to 1 each and S. Cobb has 3 for parts with only 1 fairly complete.
It will be a said day when those get exhausted.
I was playing with an old fuel rail all 3 of injectors I pulled were full of serious rust so be sure to flush and seal the metal tubes if you store one for later use.
As a side note the drivers bank has returned to 99% adaptive learning while the unchanged bank is still at 95% [2,000 rpm 60 mph cruise] so 4 new injectors are sure better than 4 old injectors.
Whether 4% difference is significant is unknown it amounts to 2.4 ms vs 2.3 ms of injector open time............the new injectors are open longer since the old ones must have suffered more wear and flow a tiny bit more.
The old ones had just been subjected to 44k prior to new swap out so they are clean just worn.
The ecu/O2 can compensate for 20% difference between banks so 4% is not important except maybe in peak HP, still a 4% A/F error difference is hardly a biggy.
Sure is smooth as brand new now even with AC on at idle in drive.
Amazing that the engine can been driven with 6.5 working injectors, actually we have seen Q come in with only 4 working cylinders and they had been driving that way for a week. pouring half the gasoline into the exhaust.
