dennis, if this is in the FSM i could not find it. is there an allowable vaue? mine has 0.0015 run out. on big block GM & FOMOCO + various marine & truck diesels this amt. would be well within spec. what has your experience shown you?

I just glanced in the '96 FSM, and there are a ton of specs. for the crankshaft on page EM-48. Do those not tell you what you're looking for?

not specifically BUT you got me to review FSM again. i then saw that there are more critical components that have a greater tolerance than the 0.0015 value on crank snout. such as main brng. journal tolerance value of 0.0020. that put in perspective.
