Hi All,

First thanks to all that replied to my questions regarding purchasing either a J30t or Q45t.

I went to drive the Q45t this evening...it's a 95 with 99k on it (priced at 6200)..it just had its' 95k service done. Small issue that is freaking me out.

I hopped in the car...which was backed into driveway put the car in gear...the tires rotated maybe twice I got a "clunk" noise after the noise it was fine..meaning that during the drive no noised nothing. The owner was with me and said "don't worry I was told it was the the ABS disengaging...not a big deal" This REALLY bothers me...the last thing I want to do is a transmission overhaul.

Any thoughts on this "clunk".

Thanks in advance for the replies.

Chuck

Chuck - For once, the seller is being straight with you. It is the ABS self-test, and although disconcerting (sounds terrible!), it's perfectly normal.

It still scares me sometimes after almost 3 years of ownership... :D

does that on my 95 as well.....since I bought it at 48K.

I thought something was wrong with my suspension...but it's not cause it's all new now :)

Yup, noisy ain't it? But normal, and it sounds as if you have a knowledgable seller, which bodes well for how the car was maintained. Now instead of worrying about noises, get thee to an Infiniti dealer with the VIN number of your prospective purchase and have him run a service history.THEN you will know if it is a wise purchase................................................................:thinker

so is that what that noise was? I always thought it was the ABS because you hear the thunk and feel a jolt in the brake pedal. Thanks for clearing that up guys.
