Hello. I just aquired a beautiful 1991 Q45A with 131k that drives out really nice except the active suspension is constantly noticably raising the car while driving. It's like the car slowly settles then abruptly raises.

What is the fix for this? Can the active suspension just be disabled? Thanks. I love the car.

Welcome, DD. The active cannot be disabled in that you will be ridng a go kart and will destroy the suspension mounting points in short order.

There is a wealth of information here, particularly in the posts by Q45tech and for actives, texasoil. Pull up a chair and start reading over the next few nights and you will learn more quicker than anywhere else.

Get a hold of Texasoil (Keith) He is the Grandfather of the Q45a.

[email protected] or [email protected] Tell him Jeremy\GreenQ45a gave you the addressI will help you with what help I can but Keith's the Man.

YOU WILL NEED A FSM (Factory Service Manual) If you wish to own an ACTIVE Q45.

I will email you one if needed.. or I have the Section for Active Suspension just an email away.

Drop me a line and lets get going on fixing your Q45a. The situation you describe can be fixed easily, or you CAN take it to a Dealer and expect to pay >$5000 for him to change parts til it works right.

I just purchased this vehicle from DipperDave. Unfortunately, I didn't realize how expensive it would be to repair the active system.

Texasoil, I just emailed you off list... if you could contact me abou the best solution for fixing this problem I would appreciate it.

Thanks.

Ross

Damn Jeff...

4 Infiniti's one "t" and one "a"...

You'll have one of each before to long...

Just sell a base model and buy a Q45\Y33 and a Q45\F50 with Active Damping Suspension you''ll have The best Q Collection EVER...

Not like you don't now...LOL

Let me know if I can help I have done a lot of work on the "Active" Q45.

But TexasOil is the "Stepfather" to the Q45a

Make sure you get an Air\Active Suspension Controller...
