Well, I spent all day working on the Q today. Oil pan drop and clean, drain and refill (multiple times) with 14 quarts of Mobil 1 ATF, install external oil cooler, replace coolant temp sensor, clean MAF, and replace transmission mount.

The transmission mount alone cut my driveline vibrations at LEAST in half . While I was installing the transmission mount, I supported the transmission with a bottle jack. When I was putting everything back together, I needed to jack teh transmission up a bit to get the crossmember seated. Well, I jacked it up too far and a little piece of plastic fell down from on top of the transmission (I think that's where it came from) and THEN I heard a cracking sound. Instant nausea followed . I am going to try to attach a picture of teh piece that fell - anyone know what this is? I test drove the car about 2 miles after this and it ran great, no out of the ordinary symptoms. What did I break?

Thanks,Tom

Looks like one of the plastic clips that holds the wires on the transmission that come from the harness, if thats all it is then you shouldnt lose any sleep over it.

Yep, wire loom is what I am hoping. Instantly after I heard the "crack", I thought of one of Dennis' recent posts about a sensor that was mounted on top of the transmission that was near impossible to get to without dropping the transmission. That's when I started to feel sick.

OMG man! Park your car now. Or else it's going to grenade on you!

JK. That looks like it holds something stupid together. But hey, you never know, those almighty Infiniti engineers may have found out that plastic is stronger then steel
