My 97 J has Q45 tension rods with the larger diameter bushing. Should I replace the rod to J30 size Or just replace the bushings?

The rod length [exact distance between front bolt and suspension arm]sets the Caster angle, depends on what numbers you want.

Even 1/16" of an inch is significant.

Bushing stiffness sets the caster/toe stiffness [rate of numeric change vs decel] primarily in braking and deceleration.

I had the tech that put my new tires on check the alignment but not make any corrections till I replaced these bushings and 1 bad tie rod. Both front casters were 6 degrees in the green on his form. My concern is if I leave the Q45 rods in with new bushings will it still align in spec. The installed bushings are just showing signs of leakage they are not totaly worn.

Thanks
