im new on this site, although ive been on here many times since i purchased my first 240. (i love it and will always own on from this day forth) anyway, my question is, ive read a thread on this site about being able to swap a q45 vlsd for my stock open diff, i know it wont just bolt in, but i was wondering if i would be able to swap the internals into my stock housing? im thinking this would save me some $$$. anyone have any info? it would be greatly appreciated!! i already have the q45 diff and an extra stock open diff. help me!!

as long as the axle bolt pattern is the same it should bolt right in. the front is a little longer due to the abs speed sensor but ive been told it will fit but the driveshaft is a little tight is all

it doesn't. i has a six bolt star pattern, not the three sets of two. i figured id have to change them, is that difficult?

in that case you have to have the output shafts from a vlsd with the correct bolt pattern or the axles from a jdm car that also use the star pattern. you could swap the internals but i wouldnt recommend it if you dont have the tools to properly setup a rearend
