I normally use my 30mm Axle Socket but it maybe 28mm. I know I use the 30mm on it to remove Harmonic Balancer bolt and to hold it still while removing Torque Converter Bolts. I say it maybe 28mm because there's a little play but no slippage.

If I understand your question conrrectly ...

According to some of the Timing Chaing Guide replacement threads it's either 30mm or 31mm. The information should be in the FSM look around pages EM-17 or so.

Since 31mm isn't a "standard" metric socket size, I'm going with 30mm.

This thread may be of some helphttp://forums.nicoclub.com/zerothread?id=92996

I tried that I need an exact size I have really strong impact/air compressor and slipped off of it nasty. ( I've done it before).

It's not in EM-17, they dont really give the sizes to anything. ( I have the book)

Thanks I managed to get it off with the 32mm with a 2nd try by pressing very hard against it the bolt faired well, off I go to get a 30mm impact.

Thanks people.

I'll take it with me to sears and try a couple of sockets to really make sure.

Try to get a 6 point socket as the 12 point can sometimes strip out if used with an impact wrench. Its rare, but its never happened on any of my 6 points sockets, only the 12's.

In automotive classes I took, I was taught not to use 12 point for high torque its just only for limited movent.

Thanks again.
