q45 v8 into a 240?

does any know if the vq45de from the q45 will swap into a 240? if so what changes are neccessery? wiring? from what ive seen the motor mounts,and crossmember look very similiar. thanksfor any info.

There was no VQ45DE. The VQ family are V6s. As for the Nissan V8s, someone has transplanted a VH41DE into a S13 with a little room to spare. Also, the guys from E&E said a VH45DE would fit in an S-chassis. I don't know for sure if they have done it, or just measured to do it. If the VH45DE does fit, the VK45DE should fit as they have about the same external dimensions.

You would definitely have to do a wiring job, probably fab up some headers, mounts, driveshaft.

Functionally speaking, isn't the VK sort of like an 8-cylinder VQ?

I seem to remember reading that the VK was based off of the VQ, so at a basic level they should functionally be the same.

so the rumor of the 300zx 5spd transmission bolting up to the vh45de not vq (correction) may be true if the vh family is based off the vq's family?

There is a Z32 with a VH45DE-TT and 5 spd on NICO - 450ZXTT, Slim is his name.
