has anyone had their transmission pressure cranked up. my trans. guy told me he does it in alot of Q's actually all the q's except grandma's special tool cranks pressure from 60 to 80 for firmer shifts

Internal line pressure is 65-71 psi at idle in gears, rising UP to 148-159 psi at stall or shift....................sounds smokey to me.

The EXACT line pressure during shifts is a function of the reported ATF temperature and TPS voltage [reduced to 1 of 8 steps] controlling the line pressure solenoid valve.

If you want to try it without changing internals just change ATF to Redline High Temp, the increase viscosity at operating temp will raise the pressure at least to 80 psi idle. Not useful in cold weather.

Dennis... is there anyway to make the line pressure solenoid be at say full pressure for most all the time...

Without exploding the transmission? High pressure means high HP losses in the pump........things are not designed that way.You only need it for a second at each shift.

If people would just take the time to read the pressurees per manual proceedure.
