I'm trying to get a replacement transmission for my 90Q. I've been made to understand that the earlier transmissions have 51x65 or 51x79 stamped somewhere on them with 51x65 being the 90-92 (possibly 93?).
I'm specifically after the 51x65 model. A JDM supplier checked the model # on a 50K tranny and informd me that the metal tag reads "51x05" ... he thinks it's a 94' but is not so sure... Anyone have any idea what model/year that would be and how it might compare to the gearing on a 51x65? The supplier also stated that all the Japanese Market Q45 trannys (except the newer models) are the same gearing...something I find hard to believe. I would also like to know if there is a way to tell the specific year of a transmission since I'm trying to avoid the 1991 models.
Thanks in advance. Drew....
