The traction control on my 1993 Q45 is not functioning. Both the SLIP and TRACTION warning lights comes on a few seconds after starting the engine. There is also a pumping sound from the engine compartment that stops as soon as the warning lights comes on.I have been told by the Nissan mechanic who looks after my car that the "Traction Control Actuator -Spare part No. 47600-61U00" is faulty and should be replaced.

However, living in Sydney Australia with only a handful of Q45 being sold I have difficulty locating the part.

Is it possible to repair the part or does anyone know where I can purchase a new or reconditioned part. Also the cost would be appreciated.

It is common that the TCS actuator relay(s) go bad. They are located under the battery tray, and are usually blue. I searched NICO for a picture og the relays (I KNOW there is one posted somewhere), but couldn't find one.

When I had a TCS problem I just ordered both, they are pretty inexpensive and easy enough to replace yourself. It seems they'll need to be replaced at some point in your car's life anyways. You can order it online from everythinginifiniti.com... or give them a call.http://www.trademotion.com/sto...id=55

I have also read there are fancier diagnostics you can do too. I'd just check the fuses and connectors before buying the actuators. You might check out some of the related threads, like this one:zer...25045

Good luck
