No I'm not getting rid of my beloved Q45, although it's troublesome lately. I'm thinking of buying a QX56. The QX56 forum isn't very active. Do you guys know much about them? I've got a post over there with more details.

Thanks,
Danny

BTW, what happened to the forum changes and where did my avatar and signature photo go?

Minimalism is now in vouge.

I suggested long ago that we pay by the word-character month as a fund raiser.

It is a very nice truck, but it drive much like a truck and also gets HORRIBLE gas mileage as any truck of that size would.

They are well built and have nice power. The interior is a beauty, but if your not looking for the snazz of the leather and birds-eye maple you can get the Nissan Armada and it is essentially the same thing. Then again if your going used, the used market is soft for vehicles that get 12 MPG and you would get more warranty from Infiniti used versus Nissan.

Well people don't buy trucks for MPG's they buy them to go through houses when mad. :rotflmao

But Ford is moving to FWD subframe "SUV" in the coming years....

I love the 1st gen QX56. Spectacular styling that manages to look classy without being overtly blingy. QXs can be made to look very nice.

The soon-to-be-released 2nd gen however, like the rest of Infiniti's current lineup, is trying too hard. It has traded its predecessor's subtlety for "LOOK AT ME I'M A FANCY LUXOUTE!" Very disappointing. I'm sure it's a nice step up in terms of everything BUT styling, but I'd still rather have a 1st gen.

In my opinion (closet redneck) the Titan and its ilk are among the best half-ton pickups out there. Granted, the half-ton market has become a very close competition over the last 5 or so years, but the Titan is still one of the best. You really can't go wrong with any half-ton right now (except the Tundra/Sequoia, which are eye hazards).
There's only one truck I'd take over the Titan: the now-retired ( ) Lincoln Mark LT (an upscale F150). And the QX is on top of my luxoute list.
The QX does everything the Titan does well, but adds Infiniti class on top of it. The QX and Armada do have independent coil suspension in the rear instead of the Titan's leafs, but they're still real trucks and will work like it when you need them to.

As far as the forum change and your avatar and signature, we migrated to some more efficient forum software and unfortunately avatars and signature images were lost along the way. You can add them back, though. Just hit the user control panel link on the top of the righthand sidebar, or the user profile button below the NICO banner.

i bought an '09 titan and i like it. if i would have had a larger budget i probably would have looked at (and probably ended up with) the qx56. i love the styling. the engine is powerful while the suspension is rougher than i expected (feels a lot like my lowered cars) but the qx56 is different. i would have loved the luxury of a qx or at least an le titan, but it was purchased more for moving/towing than anything and price was a concern. i average almost 20mpg (mostly highway) with a heavy foot.

right after i bought it i was a little upset for not taking a better look at the tundra/sequoia cause i really like the look of them and they were reviewed as one of the best in class. as a matter of fact the titan has gone from the big dog to the underdog since it was introduced. everyone has stepped their game up while the titan is still in it's first generation. toyota's publicized issues soothed the pain quickly.

I have owned both an 04 & 06 QX56. Nice truck, but it is a truck. As the owner of a 94 Q45t, the Qx56's I owned do not have Infiniti quality. I replaced my QX's with an 09 GMC Sierra 1500 extended cab, have the price and a better ride.
