Not sure, but I think you may be able to use it for the power steering system as well. I don't know about brakes, I know that there is a different device for the brake system.

hey Sub, If yyou'r still after a brk. flush device look no further than your finger tips on the keyboard. Google ''homemade brake flush''. Severall examples all very easy to build less than $30.

I finally suceeded in geting mine to work. Now works great. The problem was air leakage @ MC cap. A rubber gskt. made for an expresso mch. fit as if designed for. Takes me 20 min. for complete flush. I drilled a hole in xtra cap & installed fitting. You really dont need xtra cap

Also will work to flush my hyd. steering on boats. My neighbors boats, cars, trucks etc.

Snap-On Sun machine will also do PS system.

Unlike the BG machine, it has its own pump.

Ive had a trans flush done with a snap-on machine and it worked great.

Remember that for PS and ATF theres a way you can do it at home with no equipment and get the same results!!!! Drain/refill etc...

Dealerships buy this equipment because in the long run they make money on them. For the consumer, its way easier to DIY or go to said equipment and have the tech's use it.

I think you've been smoking something, Wes.

If you want to waste ATF, multiple drain and fills will get you close to what one mechanical exchange will, but detritus in the planetary gears and TC won't go anywhaere because there is no pressure.

Turkey basters will work for the PS, but what is nice about the Sun machine (and I presuem the BG one also) is that feed is continous with extraction, so no air and no fluid starvation. On a $1,100 OEM rack, that is assuring for me.

as far as I know the highly acclaimed BG ATF machine doesnt use a pump or anything that imposes a change in pressure.. It simply puts back in the fluid that the ATF pump in the trans pumps out.

you may waste ATF but for roughly the same thing its cheaper plus I like to do things myself.. Besides, if you change your ATF every year an 90% exchange rate isnt really that bad because the other 10% isnt in that bad of shape..

To each their own, for some people the ATF machine is better, but I still think as far as effectiveness goes, its 6 and half dozen of the other...

It uses the AT pump. After all, that is what an AT is, a big hydraulic pump that the motor powers.

For me, it's more like 14 qts. of M1 ATF vs. 28 qts. of M1 ATF.

6 pan drain/refills {18 quarts total atf needed} timed at 2.0 minutes will get out 85-90% of the old fluid, and repeated every 25-30 thousand miles completely ELIMINATES fluid from the equasion of transmission longevity and operating performance.

Is the BG machine less wasteful with new fluid? YES will it get an additional 5-9% of the old fluid out? PROBOBLY Does it matter if changing it every 25-30K ? NO Is the operator of the machine qualified to operate it? Is the machine clean inside, or full of dust, shop grit, or a few quarts of the previous customers atf, and was that dexron 3, or an incompatable fluid? Will the operator properly reconnect/tighten your cooler lines and properly replace your engine shield?

Seems much safer, less chance of a screwup, and easier to just do it yourself, at least you know it was done correctly and the 100-150 you save can be put to better use.

Wes, i agree with you, i think id rather do it myself and put the $150on something else more needed, if i can get $150 for some otherpart i might need by simply a little labor on my part id say thats smarterthan paying a machine!!
