Q45Tech

I replaced my fuel pump on my 94 Q45T. Solved all the minor problems I had but the car still stalls when crusing to a stop and has lag in accelaration in midgears.

I found a couple of burnt spots on the brass colored fuel pump cap thingy.

1. the ground wire saudered to the top side of the cap has two burnt spots.

2. the wires for the fuel pump itself at there sauder points underneath the fuel pump cap thingy are very discolored, are they burnt?

Your help would be great if you ge the chance.

Thanx Trung

I guarantee, if there is discoloration at the terminal, they are burnt.

There are prevous posts by Tangalora and TexasOil about how to resolder the terminal to a more current capable path on the circuit board. You may try to find a good one from a junker and switch it out to diagnose if your board is fried. FPCU can have very subtle failures that vexed Q45tech for a couple of years, and he is a BSEE. No hope for us common folk to diagnose these virtually undectable failures.

Otherwise, I suggest you pay a visit to Keith Vanmeter in NJ.
