Hi guys...new to the forum. I have some probs with my QWell i just got a 91 infiniti Q45 for free....The motor has a knock and the suspension is slammed. I will start with the engine:The engine has a knock but it isnt a rod knock, it sounds like it is in the head. Also there is no compression beacuse it has no power. Good throttle response but no power at all and there is a knocking sound coming from the pass side of the engine. Someone said it could be a lifter, so if you could point me in the right direction with that, i want to see if it is worth it to fix it or just to part it out.

Suspension:The car is slammed the active suspension is not working, and i have no clue where to start working. It is riding like a car with cut springs.

TIA i want to see if i can fix it before i part it out and send it to the bone yard!-Ben

Welcome to the forum, Ben. I have no idea on either of your problems, but there are plenty of helpful folks here that will.

My guess is the Chain guides are wasted and the timing chain jumped a tooth.

How bad is the noise.

Its pretty bad...So are the chain guides you think? I have been reading and it looks to me like the Q45's had an issue with the chain guides.-Ben

Pre-1994 VH45DE do have chain guide issues.

Don't drive the car with failed accumulators or you will have nothing worth repairing.

Do lots of reading here, especially posts by texasoil for the suspension, and Q45tech for everything else.
